William McKinley Sneed Jr.

William McKinley Sneed Jr., age 87, of Bradley County, TN passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.
Born on December 2, 1938, on the family farm in Bradley County, TN and delivered by his own Aunt Minnie, William was the son of William McKinley Sneed Sr. and Roxa Lemons Sneed, who came to Bradley County from the Great Smoky Mountains.
William worked at Olin Chemical for 34 years before retiring. He spent his entire life in the community he loved, where he was known for his devotion to family, steadfast faith and love of farming. William was a veteran in the United States Army and fiercely loyal to the country he served. He enjoyed tending his gardens, working hay fields, and caring for cattle. He found great joy in the simple blessings of country life and took pride in the land he called home. A faithful member and Deacon of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, William's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He lived by example, serving his church, family, and community with humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Stansberry Sneed; his parents, William McKinley Sneed Sr, and Roxa Lemons Sneed; his brother, Clyde Sneed; his special sister, Louise Brackett; and his sister Ada Craig.
He is survived by his children, Darryl Sneed (Tammy), Kelly Brackin (Steve) and April Parrish (Cavin); his sisters, Kate Green and Betty Clabough; his grandchildren, Ross and Dr. Katilyn Sneed, Sarah Brewer and Sheena Ledesma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
William's life reflected the values of faith, honesty, hard work and devotion to family. His legacy lives on through the lessons he taught, the love he shared and the countless lives he touched throughout his 87 years.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30th beginning at 5:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. with a Chapel service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Elder John Wiley Robbins. Interment will be the following day, Wednesday, July 1st at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
The family has entrusted all arrangement and care to Buckner & Fike Funeral Home and Cremation.
