Wanda Faye Harris, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Wanda was born in Meigs County on December 9, 1939, to Tom and Loraine Murphy, both of whom preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Wanda was a woman of strong character and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Cleveland Chair Factory, where she worked as an inspector.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reece W. Harris; her brothers, Charles “Red” Murphy, Ellis Murphy, Roy Murphy, Joe Murphy and a baby sister.

She leaves behind her loving children, Donna Whipple and husband, Tim, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Donald “Chuck” Harris of Cleveland; and Devonna Harris (Johnny Long) of Cleveland.

Wanda is also survived by her six grandchildren, Brad Lane and wife, Jordan, of Madisonville; Chadd Lane and wife, Meagan, of Murfreesboro; Hunter Wooten and husband, Tyler, of Cleveland; Brennan Whipple and wife, Mallory, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Bailee Whipple Day of St. Petersburg, Florida; and Brooke Moses and husband, Caleb, of Etowah; as well as twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ressie “Rusty” Wise, Laura Morrow, Mary Works, Jane Underwood, Sandra Lawson, and James Earl Murphy.

Wanda will be remembered for her love of family and the many years she shared with those she held dear. Her memory will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Main State Room of Buckner & Fike Funeral Home and Cremation. A chapel service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Tim Whipple officiating.

A private burial will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
