A proud military veteran, Don carried his sense of duty and humility into every season of

his life. He spent most of his working years as a welder, known for his steady hands and meticulous craftsmanship, and later retired from machine tool sales, where he valued the friendships he built as much as the work itself. Long before that, he was a high school football hero, remembered for his grit on the field and graciousness off it. Don found joy in simple, enduring pleasures. He loved to fish with his old buddies, content in the easy silence of shared time on the water. In retirement, he played many rounds of golf, unhurried and happy, savoring good shots and good company. He also cherished the quiet moments of home—relaxing, reflecting, and being present for the people he loved most. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jill; his sons, Ben, Brian, and Matthew; and three cherished grandchildren, Kendall, Asher, and Silas, who brought him immeasurable pride and delight. Don’s family and friends will remember him for his gentle strength, his calm presence, and the constancy of his love. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Buckner and Fike Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tennessee.
