Obituary

Donald Fetzer Maples, Jr., 72, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Donald was born on May 7, 1954, to Donald F. Maples, Sr. and Jerry Thomas Maples, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Teresa Melton.

Donald was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He was co-owner of Kayline, Inc., and owner of New Venture Imports, LLC. His business ventures took him abroad, and he spent several years living in Asia. His experiences around the world became an important part of his life and created many cherished memories that he shared with those closest to him.

Donald was a man of great faith, a faith he shared with his beloved wife, Lin Yang “Yoli” Maples, who survives him. Don faithfully attended Cookson Creek Baptist Church. He also generously devoted his time and resources to several charitable organizations that were dear to his heart, including the Elks Club and The Foundation House Ministry.

An adventurous spirit, Donald had a passion for riding his motorcycle and enjoyed the freedom and excitement it brought him. He was also an avid University of Tennessee fan and proudly supported the Vols.

In addition to his wife, Yoli, Donald is survived by his daughter, Monica Maples Kinsey and husband, Adam, of Chattanooga; his sister, Tonia Marie Satterfield and husband, Mike, of Cleveland; niece, Lindsey King and husband, John, and their daughter, Charley Marie, of Washington State; nephew, James Satterfield and Brittany Erwin, and their daughter, Emilia James, of Ooltewah; and nephew, Brian Melton and wife, Jaime, and their daughter, Hannah, of Chattanooga. Also left to mourn his passing is his much-loved dog and faithful companion, Tank.

Donald will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, businessman, and friend. His adventurous spirit, generous heart, strong faith, and unwavering love for his family will remain cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
