Obituary

Anthony "Tony" McKnight, a devoted family man and valued member of the South View Baptist Church, passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2026. Born on November 25, 1954, in Bradley County, Tennessee, Anthony lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and love.

He was employed at Maytag, where he contributed his skills and work ethic for many years. Above all, Tony cherished his family deeply, and he was especially known for the profound love he held for his children.

Tony's life was enriched by his spiritual commitment as an active member of South View Baptist Church, where his faith in the Lord played a central role. His kindness and steadfast spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lynette Rogers and husband Dallas and Christina Mueller; grandchildren Emma Rogers, Elijah Rogers, Bree Lemons, and Hailey Lemons; and great-grandchildren Leia Bleiler and Tucker Bleiler. Anthony also leaves behind his brother C.J. McKnight and his wife Janet, sister Marilyn McKnight as well as several nieces—Patricia Sharma, Jill Tallent, Jolene Hickman, and Sherrell Gargala—and nephews Shawn McKnight, Robert Presswood, and Brian McKnight. Alongside his family, he was surrounded by a multitude of friends who cherished his friendship and warmth.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, John P. McKnight and Velma Ownby McKnight; his siblings Jackie McKnight, Betty Presswood, and Ronnie McKnight; and his son-in-law Dewayne Mueller.

A visitation to honor Tony's memory will be held on May 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Buckner and Fike Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd, Cleveland, Tennessee. Following the visitation, a burial service will take place at Fort Hill Cemetery, 92 Oak Street SW, Cleveland, Tennessee, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Rev DeWayne Hamp will officiate the service.  Pallbearers for the service include Tracey Chadwick, Dallas Rogers, Robert Presswood, Bud Holmes, Joseph Darnell, Jeff Grant and Benji Pope. 

Anthony "Tony" McKnight’s life was a testament to steadfast faith, unwavering love, and commitment to family and community. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all whose lives he touched.
