Virginia W. Leach

Virginia (Bill) Wilson Leach, 86, of Charleston, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at her home. Bill, as she was called by her friends and family, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Charleston First Baptist Church. Bill was a member of Eastern Star and Woven Heart Quilt Bee. Virginia (Bill) was preceded in death by her parents, David Richard Wilson and Ora Bell Thompson Wilson; husband, Wayne H. Leach; sisters, Milly Turner, Mattie Shelton, Geneva Hagan, Wanda Rose Mendenhall, Barbara Wilson; brother, Melvin Wilson; two nieces, Darlene Monroe, Nilla June Rinehart; and great-nephew, John Rinehart. She is survived by her son and his wife, Thomas R. (Tommy, Sr.) and Betsy Leach of Cleveland, TN; a granddaughter, Laura T. Leach of Cleveland, TN; a grandson and his wife, Tommy, Jr. and Beth Leach of Benton, TN; a great-granddaughter, Ruby Isabella Leach due in March, 2013 of Benton, TN; a brother and his wife, Hugh O. Wilson and Laverne of Athens, TN; a sister, Ida Lou Griggs of Athens, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, surviving are her special "practice" grandchildren--Marsa Garner and Jenny Alford and her faithful caregivers and friends--Linda and Johnny Alford, Kathleen and Teddy Vore, and Patricia Ogles. Funeral services with be conducted on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 1 pm in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Lake Walker and Tommy Leach (her grandson) officiating. Interment will follow in the Benton Cemetery. A white dove release will conclude the service. Pallbearers will be John Ault, Micah Ault, Tim Sherlin, Dan Bettis, Bo Goforth, and Johnny Alford. The family will receive friends from 11 - 1 prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday, November 23, 2012.
