Ava Delight Mantooth Chadwick, 75, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at a local hospital. She was a member of South Cleveland United Methodist Church. She was retired from Bell South where she was employed as Supervisor for 36 years. She was also a member of the "Telephone Pioneers". She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Chadwick; parents, Oscar and Alice Wright Mantooth; sister, Myrtle Wattenbarger; brothers: Jewell Mantooth, Col. William "Bill" Mantooth and Knoble Mantooth. Survivors include her children, Allison Campbell and husband Kevin D. of Cleveland and John C. Chadwick of Cleveland; grandchildren, Abbigail Campbell, Kaleb Campbell and Ashlea Chadwick; brother, Randall Mantooth and wife Velvie of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Dorris Mantooth of Cleveland; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lamont and Faye Chadwick; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Herbert Conley officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
