Pauline Black Russell, born March 18, 1921 passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Four Point Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Athenian 159. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Russell in 2006; parents, Marshall and Grace Bell Raper Black; three brothers, Hayden, Lawrence and Malcolm; and one sister, Martha Jo Wade. Survivors include her daughter, Claudette Howard Cochran of Cleveland; two granddaughters, Tammy Hadorn (Kenny) of Cleveland and Tracy Arp (Michael) of Charleston; two great-grandsons, Brandon Hadorn and Billy McClanahan (Amber); one great-great-granddaughter, Winter McClanahan all of Cleveland; one sister, Othelia Gunter of California; sisters-in-law, Celia Black, Hazel Black, Loisteen Stapp and Rebecca Odom; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverends Ray Cheathem and Leroy Elliott officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Niota Cemetery. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Fike Funeral Home and from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Laycock Hobbs Funeral Home. The family extends their sincere gratitude to Signature Health Care Facility, especially the CNA's and nurses on hall 400.
