Edith L. Watkins

Edith L. Watkins, 91, a resident of Cleveland passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 in a local hospital. She was retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital and attended Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Buck" Watkins; parents, Frank and Lena Harris Gates; four brothers, Ralph Gates, Bud Gates, Bill Gates, and Dink Gates; sisters, Myrtle Lane, Ellen Knox, and Rachel Williams and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Jones and Kristen Jones. She is survived by four children, Phyllis Hiefnar, Everet Watkins and wife, Lottie, Linda Jones and husband, J.L. and Dean King , all of Cleveland; ten grandchildren, Steven Watkins, Tiffany Swafford, Twila Jones, Tammy Shubert, Scott Jones, Veronica Taylor, Jeff Jones, Vanessa Farris, Matthew Hiefnar, and Angie McNeese; several great-grandchildren and one sister, Melva Wright of Cleveland. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mark Cameron officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Fike Funeral Home.
