Emma Lou Davis Tinsley, 79, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 in a local hospital. She was a retired seamstress at Hardwick Clothes. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church in Hamilton County where her late husband, Norvin Tinsley, served as pastor for 35 years. Mrs. Tinsley was a skilled quilter and displayed at many showings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvin Tinsley; parents, Ira and Katherine Davis; twin brother, Dennis Davis; and brother, James Davis. Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Tinsley Bradshaw and husband, Robert of Cleveland; son, Dwight Tinsley and his wife, Lisa of Cleveland; three grandchildren, David Roberson of Billings, MT, Dennis Roberson and wife, Megan of Chattanooga and Amanda Valleroy and husband, Joseph of Savannah, GA; seven great-grandchildren: Hannah Roberson, Carter Roberson, Mason Roberson, Mia Roberson, Samuel Valleroy, Jakob Valleroy and Asher Valleroy; sisters, Nancy Ogle and husband, Claude, Jr., and Wanda Rominger and husband, Bill, all of Cleveland and Freda Benton and husband, Gerald of Harrison; brothers, Ray Davis and wife, Ruth Ann of Charleston and Richard Davis and wife, Norma of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
