Carla Sharon Mayo

Carla Sharon Mayo, 58, a resident of Cleveland for the past 9 months and formerly of Orlando, FL passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 in a local hospital. She was of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) faith. She was retired from the residential and commercial real estate sales force where she was manager for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Ellis Mayo, Jr. and Sharon Vernell Styron Mayo. Survivors include her husband, Vern Melquist of Cleveland; sister, Rhonda L. Parkinson of Daytona Beach, FL; brothers, Barry L. Mayo and wife, Monica of Cleveland and Jay F. Hunton of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews; and endearing friends, Larry and Martha Haydon of Mt. Airy, GA and Mary Ross of Jackson, TN. Funeral services will be conducted in New Bern, NC with interment in Greenleaf Cemetery. Fike Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
