Anna Anita Simon

Anna Anita Simon, 87, of Riceville, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her residence. She was a retired loan officer with Union Trust Bank in Darien, CT. Anita was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed boating and outdoor life. Anita had a positive sense of humor and enjoyed being with people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Theresa Garvato Deilus; husband, Alexander Simon; and daughter, Susan Simon. Survivors include her son, Allan Simon and wife, Sandra of Middlefield, CT and Kathy Simon Higgins and husband, Dr. Gerry Higgins of Riceville; two grandchildren, Shannon Simon of Nashville and Steven Simon of Middleton, CT; and one step grandson, Richard Higgins of Takoma Park, MD. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Calhoun Cemetery with Father Mike Nolan presiding. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
