Hubert Miles Stuckey Jr.

Hubert (Buddy) Miles Stuckey, Jr., 68, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in a local hospital.  He was born June 26, 1945, in Knox County, TN.  He was a hard worker, retiring from Cleveland City Schools in 1996, while also driving a truck part-time, working at the US Forest Service as both a forest ranger and fire crew leader during the summers, and running the family farm.  Upon retirement from the school system he continued to drive a truck.  He then retired from USF Holland where he was a 20-year member of the Teamsters.  He made friends wherever he went, even in his last days in the hospital.  He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Miles Sr., and Margarette Cooper Stuckey, and one brother, William (Sam) Stuckey.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Karen Stuckey; one daughter, Sylvia and husband John Wagner of Old Fort, TN; two sons:  Hubert (Chip) Miles, III, and wife Debbie, of Cleveland, and Matthew Stuckey of Georgetown; three grandchildren:  Ashley Stuckey of East Ridge, TN and Cameron and Savannah Wagner of Old Fort, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor John Passavant officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County.  Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Taylor, Tony Taylor, Donald Phillips, Brent Burgner, Russ Arthur and Paul Medlin.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2014, prior to the service at the funeral home.
