George Cardin

George W. Cardin, 88, a resident of Athens, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in an Athens healthcare facility. He was preceded in death by his father, Hick Cardin and a son, David Carden. He is survived by his children: Horace Carden and wife Eva of Polk County, Terry Carden and wife Robbin of Cleveland and Sherrel Mingie of Cleveland; ten grandchildren: Kim McClury, Carmen McDonald Scott Carden, David Carden, Jonathan Carden, Jamison Carden, Eric Carden, Amanda Carden, Dale Simmons, Ashley Harris and Amanda Gaskill; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers: Jim Carden, Raymond Carden of Virginia and Jeff Carden; several nieces and nephews also survive.
