DeWayne C. Summers, 54, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 in a local hospital. He was employed with Maytag, Magic Chef and Whirlpool for thirty years. He was a great supporter of Blood Assurance. He was an avid football fan, especially the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts. Mr. Summers was the son of the late William C. Summers and Dimple Cora Parham Summers. He is survived by his wife, Mae Summers of Cleveland; son, Daniel Summers of Charleston; one sister, Clara Summers Culp of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Roy Summers of Cleveland and Edward Summers of Plainsville, Indiana; mother of his son, Charlotte Lepard of Charleston. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Trentham officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the funeral home.
