Gladys Estella Blackwell, 88, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 in a local hospital. She loved sewing and gardening. She was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Blackwell; parents, William and Lilly McKissack Triplett; sisters, Lizzie Triplett, Treacie Lewis, Laura Pell and Mary Lou Pell; brothers, Spence Triplett, Roy Triplett and Hoyt Triplett; and grandchildren, Rhonda McElhinney and Michael Longley. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Longley and husband, Rod of Georgetown; grandchildren, Rebecca Cope and J.R. Longley both of Georgia; 5 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with the Reverend Beecher White officiating. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
