Ruby Naomi Thurman, 93, a resident of McDonald, TN passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Ooltewah Church of God.

 

Mrs. Thurman was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles Thurman; daughter, Bettye Tinker of Ringgold, GA; son-in-law, Ken Elliott of Rossville, GA; granddaughter, Vickie Goodwin of McDonald, TN; great-grandson, Jon Tinker of Ringgold, GA; also one brother and two sisters.

 

She is survived by her four daughters: Edna Elliott of McDonald, TN, Charlsie Oglesby and husband, Winston of Ringgold, GA, Rachel Goodwin and husband, Jimmy of McDonald, TN, and Pat Callihan and husband, Larry of McDonald, TN; son-in-law, Carl Tinker of Ringgold, GA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Edmond Stallings and Rev. Walter Bateman officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery with grandsons: Mike, Chuck and David Tinker, Dee Callihan, Lamar Fisher, Ricky Oglesby, Caleb Oglesby and Josh Pettyjohn serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the funeral home.
