Fred Clayton, Jr.

Fred Clayton, Jr., 74, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was self employed as a farmer. He was a loving husband. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Clayton, Sr. and Hazel Pettit Clayton; and sister, Freda Clayton. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Clayton of Cleveland; special nephew, Bo Collins and wife, Missy of Cleveland; special great niece, Kealey Collins of Cleveland; and special friend, Joe McCoy of Cleveland. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Reverend Frank Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
